Silicons job ban

Post by lbnesquik »

BYOND Name:lbnesquik

Reason Banned:As a borg, killed the traitor they were one-humaned to, though realized their mistake after the fact.

Admin who banned:Worgilisk

Length Banned: Infinite apparently

Appeal Reason: The exact same reasons i have brought up in my last appeal along with the fact that i've been banned from cyborg for 2 months and AI for close to 6, so i think i can say i purged my time.

Perma-bans are permanent for a reason, time since implementation is irrelevant.
For everything else, you can look back at your last appeal.

Put simply, no.

In a slightly longer form, you've been unbanned from AI before and you fuck it up every time. Your time spent unbanned from head roles does not give me ANY reason to allow you to be unbanned from slicons. If anything I think you should be sticky banned permanently for ban evading in the first place.

By silicons, i do mean Ai and cyborgs, so you do not have to consider only the option of unbanning me from both. I also believe i didn't fuck up every single time wihout fails or thoses bans would had come way earlier in my play time. On top of that, during the time poojawa had removed my cyborg ban, i did not do break any rules with the exception of a misunderstanding. At the time of the ban application, it felt more like the sentence was put more 'in case of' due to confusion in my notes rather than due to a consequent infraction to the rules. I also was unbanned from head roles for a very long time and, unless some notes have been given wihout me being informed of it, i have been decently competent and responsible in them. As in, for example, captain, hos or hop roles that i have been playing a lot lately, and these roles are more difficult to play competently than the AI or Cyborg role as there are more targets looking to kill them. They have more responsabilities to handle and often have to rely on not fully staffed departement or command staff to work. If you think that i am not rated for AI or even Cyborg level responsablities, then i have no idea why i am allowed to play captain, the most important and influencial person on station.

By definition, they are but given that most permabans on roles have been lifted, i think there is precedents to consider removing them.  I don't have access to my own logs so i cannot bring up examples, but even with that, i am pretty certain that many perma bans got removed for other peoples. On top of this, this current perma ban was applied because it was noted in my notes that i should have been permabanned from the AI role but not that i had been unbanned from Cyborg role. So the reason the current ban exist is because of a former ban that wasn't written as removed. I think this is a pretty bad justification to keep the lock on. And along with that, it realy seems like perma bans are applied more as "You fucked up so hard i don't even want to figure how long you should be banned get lost". Especially for job bans in head roles or in security.
