Byond name: Uncle Bourbon

Reason banned: As warden, worked closely with the hos to steal the rnd console in order to rush the weaponry tech tech tree due to a presumed outrage building in the crew. They then proceeded to powergame heavily, attempting to arm the brig with as many tools and machines as they could, up to attempting to bring a robotics fabricator inside. Was questioned on the matter, but was cut short due to an error in the round delay, having connected afterwards. Please make an appeal as soon as you can on the forums, so the discussion can be finished and the ban can be removed or changed to better reflect the situation.

Appeal: I'm fucking around in brig when all of a sudden people are crying bout the hos being a shitter and the RD makes an announcement saying "Until the HoS is demoted we aren't gonna do rnd for sec" or something along the lines of that. So I ask what the fuck happened and just learn that Joker just taser magdumped the CE for batoning them and im just like "ok????" thats something to not call for a demote over especially since Joker gave back the baton in front of sec and the cap. Afterwards i message the RD explaining the situation and they still dont give a fuck and refuse to do anything till they are demoted. So im thinking if you wanna be a dick i'll be a dick back and made an RND console in sec to research shit for sec. I did not steal any rnd console only took the one from the tech storage. Afterwards I would research other things that aren't mechs. Cap told me to stop cause they had it under control, one look at comms and people like the hop are loudmode spamming anti hos shit and also using his pda cartridge to send messages to everyone. So i'm thinking uh no sorry. At that point I had magrifles and mindshield firing pins for sec. From my experience, and with people like ashley starting wall off sec it just seems like they are trying to find any reason to attack us and claim its "valid" I said multiple times for the crew to back off and made sure that in case shit goes south sec and anyone inside wouldnt be attacked. I only rushed weapons cause one, thats really all sec can print, and two crew kept trying to pick a fight with us. People said that they only started when I researched weapons but i just researched riot shields first and I waited like 10 minutes which the above happened, even after the cap said she will get it handled. Also i only asked for tools so i can build the RND console and add sheeting to the doors to prevent hacking, the roboticist wanted to be in sec for whatever reason they said, i had no interest in building a robotics fab in sec. So the claim saying I tried powergaming with as many tools and machines I could is heavily exaggerated. Considering a toolbox of tools (no multitool) and insulated was all i got, and I only built an RND console in sec. Other people built the cloner and fabricator.

I shouldn't have been so aggressive and basically played chicken with the RD seeing who will fold first. Multiple times the salt shouldve ended but either certain people in the crew or one of us would do something in return to spite the others.
As for the gulag I legitimately didnt know it was broken and I have already apologized for the misunderstanding to ashley.

So the first issue here is that you decided, from the look of the logs, to go get your information on what happened from Joker themself, and decided to blindly follow forward. You immediately started calling people asshats for getting at the HoS, and proceeded to work closely with them while most of sec was conflicted at best and mutinous at worst.

And once again, you proceeded to talk with Joker on it, proposing you steal it simply so "you can take points and get guns." And looking through, there wasn't a single mention to Joker or anyone in that matter that you were stealing those points to stop mech research, instead getting yelled at for stopping tier fours being researched. This in turn caused an even greater rift, which you decided was precedent to push even further ahead.

You were preparing for a situation that didn't exist, and one that Joker later claimed in ahelps was "powergaming for what was gonna become nations." So immediately stories aren't lining up in any regard.

It wasn't ten minutes, it was two minutes before you started, and it was less than ten in total before all the purchases you'd make at the time were finished. Either you're sorely mistaken or trying to bullshit just how quick you were trying to research guns.

Why would you let them in the first place? Why would you let them construct all of these things, all in a situation where the last thing you should've been doing is accruing more power when you saw what happened when did that the first time.

I'd also like to remind you that you sent the guy down on a 1000 point gulag charge, for what amounted to walling off sec. You gave someone the equivalent of a perma sentence for a far smaller crime, and even admitted to knowing it was bogus when they came up, surprised they would've actually done it.

Quite honestly, the entirety of yours and Joker's act on the station was abysmal, bordering on metafriending if not entirely that considering the briskness you had to continue doing the exact same thing when they were demoted and you were promoted. Denied on all accounts, unless a headmin wants to overrule.

Again, the RD announced that unless the HoS was demoted they would be petty and not support sec at all, and some other departments like cargo agree'd just to be petty. Yes I was being petty back but they decided to get involved with one on one business that should've been handled privately. A minor dispute at that, that was solved quickly. It doesn't matter who the hos was the places could've been swapped with joker and the CE and i still would've sided with the hos. Especially if what joker did was true, the CE had no reason to baton the HoS. Either way these people are forcing my round to suffer cause of 2 different peoples conflict so yes I researched guns, and I dont need to tell everyone that im researching guns for petty revenge and also to hinder possible mech research. Finally yes it caused a greater rift and i acknowledge that but both sides in the conflict escalated multiple times. Such as Ashley walling off sec multiple times and attacking sec, and cargo with mechs harassing sec also.

Ok so im supposed to be all knowing and hear comms i don't have access to know that no one was planning to go on the offensive. Or what just get rushed and die or demoted to no access while the crew jerk each other off about oooh man we got them good didnt we guys? I feared for my life and well being so I prepared sec for possible situations while also annoying RND.

Ok I was wrong with my guesstimate from a round at 4 am when I was first writting this appeal, it may have felt longer due to high tensions and general slowness of the the round. But the cap still told me that they had it under control during that time frame at the same time clearly not having it under control, I dont have access to command comms during that time but im sure she did attempt to handle the situation without conflict. Pretty sure she did something to the hop, but he still was crying on loudmode trying to instigate.

Because hindsight is 20/20. I was told that a roboticist wanted to hang out with us and wasnt being a dick hole to us so sure why not, im sure they have their reasons why they dont want to work in science. I saw them building the fabricator but i did not see the cloning vat that was built off near interrogation till way later, that apparently not the robot but gladwyn the geneticist who joined us at some point did. By that point I really didnt give a shit any more cause i was dealing with Ashley and ahelps at the time.

They walled off sec multiple times, attacked officers, and told others to wall off sec too which can be listed as inciting a riot under space law if you wanna be specific. So a 1000 point gulag was justifiable, and I learned that gulag was broken after the fact I sent them down. I didnt give anyone a perma sentence that shift the only one i actually arrested was ashley, otherwise i managed the mime who was already brigged.

How is the warden working and asking the HoS, the boss of security permission to do certain things like build a RND console in sec metafriending. Thats called working with your department, if i was engie or any other department and i worked with joker then yes that would be metafriending. Finally i wasnt told of the whole job change thing till it was thrown on me suddenly. And the only thing I really continued to do was make ion carbines cause RND researched and made a durand.

Ashley here, I'm not gonna get into anything but the gulag in this appeal. I had zero issues with a 1000 point gulag, I quite literally walled off every exit from security except their external airlock and the gulag shuttle multiple times, then slipped and stole a gun from Gladwyn although they were just a geneticist so why they were armed and acting like an officer is another issue. It doesn't take that long to mine 1000 points, the free golems get the exact same gear and need 2000 for an R&D kit. I can do it easily in less than ten minutes. The only reason I ahelped was because the machines were broken, otherwise I'd have been out of there pretty fast.

I would also like to point out that Cazz shouldn't even have a month ban like I do, I told him to build RnD and told him to also research mindshield pins and mag rifles as the HoS. He's supposed to listen to the head of security so I don't understand why he is getting the same ban. It wasn't really his fault he was only listening to what I told him as his head of the department. and when he was promoted to HoS he continued research and using points because people were literally blocking off every entrance and exit to security as well as harassing and drilling airlocks so I can understand why he would continue using the RnD console to get mindshield weapons and magrifles.
