Note Appeal - Mass cannon shooting (Attempt two)

Post by Snowdragon01 »

"As a borg, tried to space someone with the mass driver, ahelped because they were shot for *trying* to get the person in the mass driver. Seems to not understand that, hardsuit or no, being a non-antag borg trying to shoot people out of the mass driver is very much a violation of borg laws. Might need a silicon ban over this - MIGHT."

Reddit post with all the details and this was obviously staff confusion
https://www.reddit.com/r/SS13/comments/ ... rong_here/

This entire situation was miscommunication and no laws were violated.

if the power was low enough this isn't strictly speaking a silicon rule violation, but if you didn't perfectly explain what you were trying to do i can kinda understand someone shooting you for trying to space them.

Yeah it wasn't explained perfectly but it was an extended round and I was not forcing them into there. They also did have a space suit on.

I'm not arguing to report them I'm just saying a misunderstanding like this probably shouldn't have a note, at least not one that makes people think I forcibly attempted to space someone.

Agreeing with Kenzie on this one, even if it was high powered if the human is cool with it that goes under self-harm. In either situation as long as you aren't forcing it you're covered. I've had stranger requests during extended rounds.

IIRC, the person who was to be shot out of the mass driver didn't want it. That's why they barged out of the mass driver and shot the borg. But it's been quite some time, so I can't remember every detail - I just DO remember that the person you tried to shoot out the mass driver was also the same one that shot you.
It is only waffer thin.

i still agree that it's not really a silicon rule violation unless they told you to stop, but it is still shitty anyway and so i am inclined to leave the note

My memory doesn't remember them actually ever going into a mass driver cannon.

well yeah, you were probably stopped by them shooting you. which you then adminhelped. which is pretty dumb considering you shouldn't have been doing that anyway.
