How long have you played on Citadel?: bout a year now, jesus
How long have you played SS13?: A year and a few months, god I'm old
What is your timezone/general hours of activity?: I'm an east coaster that's active on an Australian time schedule sometimes. Available in EST evenings.
Previous SS13 related admin experience: Admin (classified as a head-moderator, it's just an admin that's also the mod wrangler) on Eridani Station, and an actual admin on Drymouth Gulch (before it went under).
Previous non-SS13 related admin experience: I'm an admin for Eridani's Discord??? Does that count??
Current administrators who have agreed to support your application: ZeroNetAlpha
Reason for application: You know why I'm here. I'm here to prove that I'm no longer the fucking idiot that I was around this time last year. And on the roughly one year anniversary of my banishment from Eden I bring to you this app. God I hate typing properly, please help me. I'm a good bean I swear.
What would make me a good admin you ask? I've had a job working with autistic children and it's really taught me patience and how to deal with problems that really shouldn't be happening. Adminning is the same way.
. How would you engage with two players having an out of character altercation?
If it's something like they're just calling eachother 'stupid doodoo heads' in looc i'd watch to see if it escalates, if it's pretty bad and flooding the shit out of the text in a public area then sure, I'll tell them to knock it off or take it somewhere else. If it persists between either of the two assailants then it's time to hit that mute button.
2. What should an admin do if they're involved in a situation that needs admin intervention?
DON'T
SOLVE
YOUR OWN
AHELPS
That's kinda what got me in trouble last time, I was a total chumbis. Try to phone a friend and share your side of the story as best you can. Don't solve it yourself because it makes you look bad, it donks the logs up, and bay doesn't have a ticket system so you'll be suffering through scrolling through shit trying to show where you fixed stuff in case another admin finds it and then it's a whole shit show. Just get another admin to try and solve the problem and act as if you were a player. If there's no available admin then welp. That sucks.
3. How should an admin determine in what way to punish someone who breaks the rules?
if it was a COMPLETE ACCIDENT, I understand that. I have fine motor-skill problems. Maybe you didn't know what opening the valve did (I know I've been there) or maybe you didn't know what that little doll did before you touched it extra hard. Shit happens, atleast you know how it happened to prevent it from happening again.
If it's a first time offence (and it wasn't blatant grief) then sure, slap them on the wrist and send them a link to the rules list. Esp if it's an RP issue. Kindly assess what behavior was incorrect and how to fix it.
If it's a repeat offender, weewoo weewoo, they're getting a dingdong bannu. Length depends on how often and how shitty they fucked up.
Evident greif, repeated and blatant disobeying the rules or if they broke the rules and logged mid-ahelp will lead to a permabean. Good luck with the appeal.
4. Under what conditions should an admin de-admin themselves while playing?
When they're in the round, usually. It's fine as a non-antag but if you REALLY don't wanna be wisked away from your erp to deal with a pomegranate cat having a screaming match with medical then you should probably deadmin.
If you're an antag or anything of the sort you should probably de-admin, yeah.
5. What is expected of an admin on Citadel?
Actually fucking answer ahelps, jesus. I'd rather get an answer than being left on read. Nothing's worse than sitting there twiddling your thumbs and waiting for someone to help you when in reality they didn't even glance their mouse over it is a little sad. A lot of people don't even want to ahelp for this reason and it makes me want Alexa to play Despacito it's so sad. I'll answer any ahelp nomatter how stupid it sounds.
