Admin complaint- Madamheichou

Post by FGRSentinel »

So the round that spawned this complaint was 12470.

I was the AI during this round. The QM shows up to collect the nuke disk and spare as they were the only head. A random assistant was calling for people to be armed because of the lack of security. The QM and I shoot it down quickly. About ten to twenty minutes into the round, someone joins as HoS. A short while later, Madamheichou decides to spawn themselves in as Birddi and flinging her corpse around the station, taunting the crew from space. This, along with the fact that her doing this was breaking/damaging windows, prompted a number of crewmembers to start hunting her down. Birddi isn't crew and nobody's hurting each other, so this is no problem for me.

However, very shortly after Birddi vanishes from my cameras I get a motion alarm on my sat and switch over to look. Birddi had broken a window and ended up on my sat. After I reported this (noncrew on the sat probably isn't a good thing) Birddi started teleporting deeper into the sat, one room at a time, after fixing the window, but not the lack of atmosphere. At this point, I decide to request assistance and the assistant from earlier, Melissa I think, decides to come help. Suddenly I hear my turrets start shooting constantly and Birddi starts talking, revealing Madamheichou ahealed herself after teleporting underneath my core, forcing me to refocus to turn off the turrets simply because the constant firing was annoying, wasting power on the sat, and couldn't do anything about the situation. This is where the "vented entryway wasn't repressurized" part comes back into play: I wasn't aware that the AI sat's atmos doesn't start with the pumps on and that it wouldn't repressurize on its own. Melissa, as reported by the HoS, died in the entryway after arriving.

Madamheichou aheals them, but at this point the damage was done. As I quickly open other rooms to repressurize the entryway so Melissa wouldn't immediately die again, she starts screaming that I "killed her" as if it was intentional. Meanwhile, on the station, Cargo got a collection of infected corpses and in the drama on the AI sat, which was a Law 1 issue, Lambda (the cargo tech) gave orders that I didn't hear and, rather than wait patiently or restate the orders to make sure I noticed them, chose to fly off the wall about how I was ignoring orders. No matter what I said to either of them, they chose to ignore any defense I tried to give, with Lambda taking a full two minutes before actually saying what the orders they gave were, during that time giving me a Law 2 order to "say you're useless" while I wasn't even made aware there was an issue on the station until the HoS (who was aware of the Law 1 issue on the sat) gave me a very stressful ultimatum: "AI, follow all orders as given or you will be carded."

No warning. No attempt to even let me explain myself. Because of one admin deciding to be a meme I had one person actively trying to make me miserable (Lambda), another trying to paint me as rogue for something I tried to fix (Melissa), and a third (the HoS) basically forcing me to operate on a "one strike and you're out" policy for the rest of the round. Any fun that could have been had that round was gone, and those involved made a point to ignore anything I said after that. The QM dies on my sat and keeps autocloning as a plasmaman, but I have to beg for someone to go to my sat to retrieve them so they had the suit. Five of their bodies were heating medical, but I had to beg to have the potential problem fixed. It wasn't until Ty arrived as captain that the round went back to a "business as usual" AI round after he pointed out the entire situation was bullshit, but this "meme" basically sucked all enjoyment from about half the round for me.

There's always complaints about the self-bussing in Birddi, but in this case it actually got people so angry at me (someone that was seemingly randomly picked by Madam to hang out around long enough for it to impact others negatively) that my round could have been cut short at any point as far as I knew. All I'm saying is, this nonsense needs to stop. It's not funny anymore and, from what I've heard, it hasn't been funny for a while. All it did this round was basically give three people excuses to try to valid/grief me by painting me as potentially Malf/noncompliant with my laws.

I understand completely that my busing was pretty shitty and I'm sorry for ruining your round. My actions were unacceptable. My only comments are that Melissa and Aurelia (the HoS) can be labeled as extremists in my own opinion and I think that opinion applied to this round, what with Melissa yelling at you consistently about "ignoring orders", and Aurelia threatening you, they are the ones that did not listen to whatever you said, and Lambda not making their orders clear. As an AI player, I can see why all of the stimuli would have been confusing or frustrating. The bird-hunt I incited was not my intention either, and I didn't realize it was happening. Another thing, I was dead when I jumped into your core. I only healed myself to speak to you for a few seconds, and then I killed myself and removed myself from the SAT. I knew the turrets would get mad at me if I were alive, and the turrets bothering you was not my intention. Again, I'm sincerely sorry for ruining your round with my self-bus and I recognize that it wasn't fun for anyone involved. To be honest, I had recently learned that corpses can smash windows and I went overboard with this knowledge, I am sorry.

It's fine, I suppose. There's nothing wrong with having a bit of fun, but sometimes it's hard to know how people will react to something that gets overused. Perhaps it would be best to find a way to add enjoyment to the round for everyone in a way that doesn't impact the round in any meaningful way. In this case, the main issue was the exact timing of you appearing on my sat, but I will admit the reaction to the situation (or the lack of understanding a number of crewmembers had for the difficulty an AI would have with dealing with that as few crewmembers seem used to waiting for things from the AI, let alone there potentially being a Law 1 problem that needs their full attention at that moment) was the part that was the real issue in the situation. If you'd teleported in just to chat it would have actually been a welcome change to the usual quiet and alone nature of being an AI when nobody actually needs you for anything. I'd like to think we could say this is a learning experience for everyone, but I think the two of use may be the only ones who learned anything (me learning that I need to keep a better eye on the conditions on my sat if anything happens to it and announce if there's a Law 1 issue that needs my full attention)
