So, this is more complicated than the initial report probably makes it sound. I had zero intention of griefing the server, nor did I plan to break any rules or do anyone any harm. The reason this happened (not that it's an excuse) is that at the end of the previous round I had ahelped to report homophobic language (fag, faggot etc) as I was under the impression that such slurs were against the rules of the server. I was then told that this behaviour was permitted by the admin and community members I talked to.(so long as it was not in OOC)

Angry at this interaction, I brought that experience to OOC to discuss (something I am aware with hindsight that I shouldn't have done) and was greeted with a bunch of 'TRIGGERED' and 'WORDS CAN'T HURT YOU DON'T BE OFFENDED BY SLURS' memes and insults. Needless to say, this attitude wasn't one that I expected on the server, much less for it to be the permitted norm, so not wanting to play another round, which had started and put me in engineer I threw myself into the SM crystal. I should probably have signed off in a more mature way, but I was desperate to log off and didn't see any harm in it since this doesn't hurt the station as far as I know?

Either way, I wanted to apologise for doing what I did and for becoming as angry as I did about the slur situation. I thought that the language was against the rules, and just wanted a quick out. I now understand that this behaviour is unacceptable and won't do anything of the sort again.

Unfortunately, running into the SM DOES potentially cause damage to the station - such actions can send it into destabilisation which can end in a number of different ways, like a massive explosion claiming Engineering, or a Singularity spawning.
As for homophobic language, it IS allowed... to a degree. As stated by server rules; 'Some amount of bigotry, discrimination, and general asshole-ishness is allowed IC for the sake of roleplaying, but keep it tasteful.' - The admin you talked to deemed the character's use of it not to break that rule.

Just to try and clear some things up.

I understand that now - and I'm sorry. I wasn't trying to grief, and really miss playing on Citadel.

Also, taste is subjective, right? I didn't see eye to eye on the use of the word, but I understand why the admin deemed it acceptable.

Since you don't know my Discord, generally if someone does something griefy and logs off they're perma'd if no one knows anything about them. I can let you off with the current ban length and a warning since you seemed to have learned your lesson. If a higher up says differently, they'll let ya know.
