Perma Ban Appeal

Post by ThatMoldyBagel »

BYOND Name: ThatMoldyBagel

Reason Banned: On their first round, joined as a non-antag medical doctor and within minutes wordlessly killed the CMO with a circular saw. Disconnected upon being arrested before they could be PM'd

Admin who banned: IzzyInBox

Length Banned: Permanently

Appeal Reason: That was the very first time I had played SS13 and I was playing with my friend (DocDerp) who was the CMO. I didn't know what to do and my high ping had prevented fluent motion, so before I left I wanted to mess with him a bit. I killed him with a circular saw as a joke and promptly disconnected, then not really caring about the actions, as I thought that I wouldn't really get into SS13. More recently I have begun to get into the game and Citadel Station is one that my friend plays on most often. I am now starting to feel bad and I have realized what I am missing out on and what I have done wrong.

No real offense to you, but looking up your friends notes and bans... he has an unfortunately 'colourful' history of late.
Though you might be sincerely apologetic, unless your friend can keep himself out of trouble for some time, I can't say I'd be comfortable with a friend of theirs potentially encouraging or joining in on such behaviour.

I understand completely, he does have a colorful imagination, but I would wholeheartedly attempt the keep him in line (Which is usually the other way around). But usually, the things that we do are completely different and only rarely do we agree on certain things that we both find to be a good idea (again, very rarely)

Is there anything I can do to prove that I wouldn't follow in his footsteps should he do something against the rules?

Hmm.
Suppose I could offer some kind of 'Probation' - some time to prove that you and your friend are better than what I'd be worrying about.
Otherwise, both you and your friend could find yourselves perma'd.

That would be nice, thank you for the chance to prove that I can play this game in the way it's meant to be played.

Alright, you'll have your chance - on your best behaviour if you play again.

Appeal approved.
