Reason Banned: Broke rule 3.6. Ghosted as an antag before being taken into sec proper. Was already apprehended, but did not want to wait to be put into perma where they could properlly cryo and leave the round. . In addition to a weeklong antag ban. 3 day ban based on note history as well.

Appeal Reason: So the story goes like this: I was an antagonist, did my stuff, got caught by the Head of Security and cuffed, they vomited and gave me a chance to run, I had the disk on me so they tracked me down easily again before I could remove the cuffs. As I was getting dragged to brig, I gave up and ghosted because I was pissed at failing so hard.

Okay so. I do not see the point of rule 3.6 entirely, I understand suiciding for hero moments is bad, but I did not do anything like that, I only ghosted, not even suicided, just to not have to watch security do their job while they already had me caught.

What I do not understand is: What harm have I really done to the server or anyone at all by ghosting at that moment, other than to myself by forfeiting my antag round?

I do not think I deserve any sort of ban, maybe a note if anything at all, and the fact that appearently this ban is based on my note history is rather weird because I have literally done this the first time.

I'd understand the reasoning for this ban if I was doing this constantly, or if It was considered as antag fishing (But it can't be, because we have the system that if you ghost/suicide/cryo you can't be a ghost antag so yeah.) but in this scenario I have literally not done anyone any wrong or caused any sort of IC drama by ghosting. One thing I remember the admins saying was also that the wrong thing I did was being impatient and not waiting to get dragged to brig before ghosting.

Again: I think I don't deserve any of those bans at all even if I really did break that rule - which I don't think I did because for one I ghosted and not suicided to cause IC drama or as the rule states a "hero moment". I silently left the round, giving up on my antag round, complaining a bit about what happened in dead chat, other than that, I did no harm whatsoever to anyone - It's my first offense of this type and it shouldn't be punished so harshly.

Hi, banning admin here. Clarified up the banned reason to be more concise. : Broke rule 3.6. Ghosted as an antag before being taken into sec proper. Was already apprehended, but did not want to wait to be put into perma where they could properlly cryo and leave the round. . In addition to a weeklong antag ban. 3 day ban based on trying to rules lawyer out of it without actually understanding the rule he cited. Poor sportsmanship as an antag , complained about their objectives in dead chat once they ghosted, and apparently never thought to try and ahelp out of it in the first place. Their note history shows a clear pattern of doing things with poor rationale behind them, and it feels like this is a similar case.


That being said: The rule you continuously cited, Rule 3.6. Ghosting= suicide. That’s already been decided upon. You can’t argue that one. Ghosting is suiciding yourself. As explained in the ticket, you were impatient and didn’t wait the extra few minutes till you could cryo out of the round in perma. Hell you even complained about your objectives in dchat. You could’ve ahelped out of it and avoided the whole situation if as you claim , “every time I’m antag I get the steal nuke disc” objective. Failing is part of the game, and you should be able to roll with the punches. You were a very short time away from being able to properly leave the round and relax and chill out. Instead you ghosted. I stand by my decision.

Ghosting is basically the same as suicide, as without admin intervention you cannot continue as that character. The bans were put into place on account of your history on the server in general, as your notes are pretty bad and arguing with admins about the issue.

I do not see why do you punish people from ghosting out of the round, "poor sportsmanship" is in my opiniom not anyhow good enough to give me a 3 day ban.

The rule lawyering, well, when you get bwoinked about something you think is really stupid, it's really hard to not try and fight for yourself. If you expect me to sugarcoat it and lie that I am sorry for something I don't feel guilty about then why would you start a ticket knowing I'll be trying to defend myself.

Please don't give me the "ahelp to change your objectives" part because I've done that many times, maybe as a changeling, rather than my traitor, and I can assure you admins never changed my objectives to something easier when I asked for it.

The reasoning with "the fact that I've been banned for poor decisions before" is rather silly to me, because by that logic you can pin that up to every single note of every player, because every rule break is a bad decision, yet people get only noted for things like killing cultists instead of deconverting them which in my eyes is just as much of an unsportsmanlike behaviour as what I did.

The fact that it was a minute before I had the opportunity to cryo is also the more reason that I shouldn't be banned. It would be a different story if I was some sort of vital target that they need to interrogate, but I was just a simple shit with an ebow and esword that they'd execute or permabrig.

I do not see any wrong here, and sorry if my responses seem anyhow hostile or aggressive, in all honesty they are not meant to, but it's hard to sweeten everything up when you feel like you've been treated unfairly.

So basically how it is now is I got ahelped for virtually nothing and the fact that I argued about it in the ahelp - because I thought I disn't do any wrong and it turns out I didn't do any wrong - is what got me the ban...

I have never suicided or ghosted as a non antag while being brigged except one time where they wanted to forcefully borg me.

We don't want to breed an environment where people play only to win and antags just ghost when they get caught instead of fighting to the death, it gives us the impression that said antag is only playing to greentext and is being a poor sport.
