What style of gameplay do you prefer?

I'm gathering opinions and input on how the playerbase feels about server mechanics. I'd like to know the style they prefer.
Do you feel that pure roleplay is the way to go? With this I mean everything is handled by extended player interaction through means of playing a scene out.
Or do you feel that it should be action oriented? With this I mean players should act as they need when they need with only the most basic of roleplay. Which can be as simple as speaking to another player with all action acted out directly instead of in a scene.
