Playable race suggestions anybody?
Anybody got any race suggestions?
Wyverns/dragons; A humanoid race with wings on their back/arms, with a higher heat threshold but a lower cold threshold?
Synthetics; a synthetic person designed to work well in extreme environs, doesn't actually need to breathe, electrocutions are far more dangerous?
Any more ideas?

Humanoid Monkeys would be cool.
I would love to walk around as a big monkey, and still be able to interact with everyone...

RE: Playable race suggestions anybody?
(Now, I don't know if there is a rule about how long a thread has to be dormant before this counts as a violation of the forum rules, mostly because I couldn't find out if this forum has any rules at all)
I have a few suggestions:
First, two of Mass Effect fame that could be easy to implement:
Turians: High Radiation resistance, metallic carapace that protects against light physical attacks. Otherwise, not much different from default (And no, the whole dextro-amino thing isn't that much of a deal in reality).
Krogan: Very tough, can shrug off most injuries that would at least incapitate other humanoids. Lost an Arm? The Krogan will just stand up again. Bleeding like a pig in the slaughterhouse, but still awake, alive and still conscious enough to walk to the medbay to get his arm stitched back on. And blows to the head won't knock them out.
Some others:
Orks (40K): Pretty much male-only (unless you want to get creative), physically tough to a ridiculous degree, slight self-healing, can survive even the worst trauma by simply stitching lost limbs back on or stuffing lost organs back inside. Higher melee damage.
Tau (40K): A bit fun to play around with, since their four Castes are essentially subspecies. Earth-Caste are great engineers and laborers, probably building and crafting items much faster. Fire Caste are military, and probably have higher accuracy using weapons and thrown objects. Water caste are diplomats and traders, so a bit harder to implement. Air caste are pilots and space station crews, so they likely move very well in the void, but are in a constant 'Walk' while in gravity. Maybe they can steer themselves a little when moving in space. Ethereal Caste would be impossible to implement, due to their pheromones. They all have one thing in common though: Their melee sucks, and they take more damage from melee weapons.
Yautja (Predators): Someone above already suggested that. Physically tough and strong, so maybe no loss of speed when pulling something.
Grineer (Warframe): Start with several cybernetic implants by default, are tough against physical attacks, and can be cloned much quicker than normal. However, diseases and viruses hit them much harder than normal, often incapitating individuals that didn't get vaccinated, while others just get a cough or randomly drop items.
Eliksni/Fallen (Destiny): Four Arms, quick movement speed, and they start out with a breathing mask and an oxygen tank by default. I don't know how to implement Ether, so their movement speed and arms need to suffice. Maybe they don't drop stuff when falling down.
Sangheili/Elites (Halo): High melee damage, faster movement speed. Maybe a bit tougher than usual, but if they bleed they bleed out faster than normal.
Jiralhanae/Brutes (Halo): High melee, high resistance to damage, and high physical strength (again, no slowdown when pulling objects or people).
And last but not least:
Klingons (Star Trek): because it's in space and we need something from Star Trek.
If requested, I could even whip up some sprites for a few of these.

humans are pretty much the baseline, races that are superior straight up to humans most likely aren't going to get implemented.

RE: Playable race suggestions anybody?
So, essentially races with more convoluted advantages, rather than physical ones would work best? For instance: A human and a dwarf are almost the same physically, but the dwarf is better at blacksmithing, which is a skill that needs to be learned, rather than something hard-coded into their genes.ÂTrojan_Coyote wrote: humans are pretty much the baseline, races that are superior straight up to humans most likely aren't going to get implemented.
Or alternatively, races with downsides that even out the advantages, like the Grineer that I meantioned. In their example, a virus that makes others cough and drop things, would put them into a critical state if not treated quickly enough.
Is that correct?

Recently ive noticed when I click certain threads, the last most recent post, isnt the last most recent post and is in fact a page from earlier on in the thread.
For example today is the 20th yet in the BBUS thread the last post is from the 17th
Its really annoying
