An idea that's been tossed around a while, which I think warrants further detailing, is a hardsuit for engineering, that can withstand both the radiation and heat of a destibilized supermatter reactor, but can't do much else. I propose the R.E.E. (Reactor Emergency Environment) suit, which would slow you down more than a standard hardsuit and offer no ballistics or pressure protection, (And thus isn't an EVA suit), but can keep you alive in the melting SM Reactor long enough to effect repairs without becoming a retarded nugget.

The CE hardsuit does just as good of a job in the SM, on fire or not. Nothing is going to save you from radiation if it gets high enough, however, even cyborgs will get warped and melt if they go near a rad-hot enough area.

I'm not very good with engineering and the SM myself but it would be funny to hear the CE or an engineer scream to his co-worker while everything is blowing up : "Get me the REEEEEEE!"
