So after being asked to throw my opinion into this, I decided to go digging in the logs to find these ahelps in question before I threw my hat into the ring.

Ticket #14: Mirukihoshi/(Buddy Loraine): enable ooc you fucking mongoloids ;/
This is your "joking" ahelp asking for OOC to be re-enabled. I see nothing here that makes it clear you're joking.

The shuttle had already been called at this point for the meteors, and the ETA was about 8 minutes - not really a lot of time to do much about it, either.
You can patch holes. You can make sure escape is pressurized and safe for others. After a meteor wave, there's plenty of work for engineering to do, and plenty of reason to do pretty much the only thing they have to do after the engine is set up.

Now, let me remind you, I had been ERP'ing with my friend for a large majority of my shift, and absolutely NO-ONE has needed me. Even when the meteors had started, there was no calls for my help, AND, the shuttle would be there in less than 5 minutes at that point, so of COURSE I wasn't gonna do anything.
If an admin tells you to do something, it's probably a safe bet that you should zip up your pants and actually do it. Besides.
PM: Buffalowing/(Kayleigh Echard)->Mirukihoshi/(Buddy Loraine): You're aware of the meteors, right?
PM: Mirukihoshi/(Buddy Loraine)->Buffalowing/(Kayleigh Echard): - AdminHelp Rejected! -##Your admin help was rejected. The adminhelp verb has been returned to you so that you may try again.
PM: Buffalowing/(Kayleigh Echard)->Mirukihoshi/(Buddy Loraine): I love me too. Now go fix the station.
PM: Mirukihoshi/(Buddy Loraine)->Buffalowing/(Kayleigh Echard): bro im FUCKING
I honestly FAIL to see how any of this could be seen as Buffy joking. OR how you would think this is an appropriate response.

I reply saying that there would be no POINT in me stopping as the shuttle is coming, so there's no use, and that I'm not going to end my ERP abruptly and rudely for something that isn't even needed, because we were LEAVING.
You seem to have left something out, here.
PM: Mirukihoshi/(Buddy Loraine)->Buffalowing/(Kayleigh Echard): firstly##we are LEAVING the station. i am NOT gonna "do my job" when we are LEAVING. second, i'm not gonna abruptly stop (e)rp. that's a fucking dick move. you have a big problem with it? note me or ban me. we done here?
Try to avoid lying and leaving out info in appeals, yeah?

At this point, he's pissed. R3dtaile sends me a text-wall explaining how rude I'm being, and he threatens me with an Engineering PERMA-ban, and treats me as if I just insulted his mother.
This was their actual reply.
PM: R3dtaile/(Chase Redtail)->Mirukihoshi/(Buddy Loraine): Okay. So. Your ONE job is to repair the station. you are committing dereliction of duty. If you want to be snarky about being forced to put your job before your scene. We will be more than happy to give you an engineering ban. Your job comes before ANY scene. Especially in times of an emergency. And you're outright refusing to listen to admins for telling you to do your job? I'm sorry, but uh, why are you acting like this? You picked engineer, you know damn well the things you might have to deal with in a round. Yet you're choosing to put your fun over EVERYONE elses. That's selfish and incredibly piss poor behavior
Given how you'd acted so far, this is pretty damn nice compared to the response you'd get from other admins for that.

Frustrated and done with trying to present my case, I send R3dtaile the "Your AdminHelp was rejected!" message, more tailored to his answer, instead of actually replying to him.
I dont know why you thought this was a good idea, but most other admins would have perma'd you for this, so you should consider yourself lucky.

Before I receive a response from him, someone hacks into our dorm room, throws in a chemical grenade, and kills me, and ONLY me. That action was EXTREMELY suspicious to me, but I find out the person who threw it was after my partner, even though the grenade didn't even kill her. I talk about how I find that all to be a bit suspicious, Buffalowing comments how, "You wouldn't have died if you were doing your job!" Which didn't make any fucking sense, and I leave, as the shuttle had left
This was actually coincidence and if you had actually listened to admins and zipped your pants up, you actually wouldn't have been killed. It was found out after they broke in that your ERP buddy was the target they were after.

Overall, I'm saying your ban appeal is denied, and if I had any say in it, I'd add a few days for lying in the appeal by leaving out information and using that lack of information to paint Chase as the bad guy in this.
Okay, wow. There's a lot here, so bear with me. I don't disavow anything I've said here, but I DO disavow the way this information has been presented.

"This is your "joking" ahelp asking for OOC to be re-enabled. I see nothing here that makes it clear you're joking."

I can understand this. I was hoping the ";/" would be enough, but I can see how this was taken seriously. I have met more than my fair share of people using this seriously, and if I had know this would've turned into all of this, I would've been more careful in my wording.

"You can patch holes. You can make sure escape is pressurized and safe for others. After a meteor wave, there's plenty of work for engineering to do, and plenty of reason to do pretty much the only thing they have to do after the engine is set up."

As was previously said by MoltoRetardo, all of this was already done. In fact, my help would've been practically useless, and I would've gotten in the way. That wasn't worth abruptly leaving for.

"If an admin tells you to do something, it's probably a safe bet that you should zip up your pants and actually do it. Besides.
PM: Buffalowing/(Kayleigh Echard)->Mirukihoshi/(Buddy Loraine): You're aware of the meteors, right?

I honestly FAIL to see how any of this could be seen as Buffy joking. OR how you would think this is an appropriate response."

I'm not gonna do something if I think it isn't needed, or that they're wrong. When he asked if I was "aware of the meteors", I was fairly confused as to what he meant, as I was still focused on the ERP, and was only half paying attention to the messages at first. When I said "bro I'm FUCKING", I was serious, but presented it in a joking tone, mostly because I was confused, and kind of astonished he was telling me to do something that didn't need my help doing.

"You seem to have left something out, here. Try to avoid lying and leaving out info in appeals, yeah?"

Uh, yeah, that's my opinion. How is that leaving something out? Also, how was I lying? You make no sense. I was done, and I wasn't going to say the same thing over, and over, and I'd much rather present it how I'm presenting it right now. How about you don't try to make me seem like a liar, yeah?

"Given how you'd acted so far, this is pretty damn nice compared to the response you'd get from other admins for that."

Nice? it's hyperbolic, and it feels like he wasn't addressing my situation, but anothers. it astounds me how you can't see how silly this is.

"I dont know why you thought this was a good idea, but most other admins would have perma'd you for this, so you should consider yourself lucky."

I didn't say it was a good idea. I said that because I was done talking to him.

"This was actually coincidence and if you had actually listened to admins and zipped your pants up, you actually wouldn't have been killed. It was found out after they broke in that your ERP buddy was the target they were after."

I addressed this already, and apologized for that, in this very thread.

"Overall, I'm saying your ban appeal is denied, and if I had any say in it, I'd add a few days for lying in the appeal by leaving out information and using that lack of information to paint Chase as the bad guy in this."

Very nice how you barrage me with a ton of "evidence" to support your argument and give your decision before letting me reply. Says a lot. Also, like I said, I didn't lie, nor did I intentionally leave anything out. I wrote multiple paragraphs on this, so why in the fuck would I ruin that by intentionally leaving things out? Chase isn't the bad guy, but he is wrong, and that's all that matters here.

And since you lied on the appeal I'm extending your ban a bit. Two extra days and an extra week on your job ban. Cheers! And again. Admins told you do something. You outright ignored them for your own scene.

Clearly you didn't read my reply, did you? Huh. It's almost as if you don't care about thinking if you were actually right or wrong? Wait a second, weren't you only a trial-admin for a bit under a week? Interesting.

Anyway, I didn't lie. Maybe read my reply, it should help you.

I love how you edited this instead of replying after realizing accusing me of lying wasn't gonna work. Anyway, like I said, I'm not gonna do something an "admin" tells me to do if it's wrong, stupid, or if I don't agree with their decision. That is where these forums come in.

So let me preface this by saying something and making it very clear.

If an admin tells you to do something, and you don't do it, you should fully expect to be banned. I don't care HOW many other engineers there were. This is clearly in the server rules and it's not something you can choose to ignore because it suits you.
An admin told you to pull your dick out and do your job. At that point you say "Yes sir/ma'am" and do your job. End of.
The entire eastern half of the station was shrapnel. There was plenty that needed to be fixed, and "The shuttle was on it's way" isn't an excuse to not do your job, and even less of an excuse to ignore two admins telling you to stop ERPing and help.

I say you're leaving stuff out because you completely failed to mention how rude you were being to chase until much later in the situation. Leaving things out IS lying.

I didn't say it was a good idea. I said that because I was done talking to him.
You dont really get to decide when you're done talking to an admin. An admin does. That's why we have control over the tickets.

Chase isn't the bad guy, but he is wrong, and that's all that matters here.
And from a completely outside point of view that had zero involvement in this situation until I was asked to step in and give my opinion, I can safely say that this couldn't be further from the truth. Chase was very much in the right when he banned you, and as I said before, I'd have probably give you a longer ban given the last person that said something to me along the lines of
you have a big problem with it? note me or ban me. we done here?
Was instantly perma'd and likely wont be getting unbanned. I think Chase gave you a lot of slack and you don't realize how close you came to a much longer ban than this.

Didn't I just say I'd rather work things out here? That implies that I knew I was going to get banned. After each reply, it only convinces me more that you're not reading anything I say.

"An admin told you to pull your dick out and do your job. At that point you say "Yes sir/ma'am" and do your job. End of."

My character doesn't have a dick, and I'm not a guy. Anyway, no, I am not going to be fully compliant just because someone with authority on the server tells me to, and I've already stated why previously. Please stop saying things I've already answered. It's turning this appeal into a pissing contest, which I'm not into.

"The entire eastern half of the station was shrapnel. There was plenty that needed to be fixed, and "The shuttle was on it's way" isn't an excuse to not do your job, and even less of an excuse to ignore two admins telling you to stop ERPing and help."

Okay, yeah, I'm fully convinced you're not reading this thread at all. Station was past the point of no return, and things were fixed, and didn't even need my help. What, you want me to go to the deserted other end of the station where no one is and patch that 2x2 little hole up? There's also something I'd like to mention that I should've mentioned in my initial post. Unlike Heads and Sec', Engineering does NOT give one of those "your job is important to game progression" messages, and despite that, I still made sure it was cool to ERP. Just wanted to mention that as a side-note.

"I say you're leaving stuff out because you completely failed to mention how rude you were being to chase until much later in the situation. Leaving things out IS lying."

Unintentionally it isn't. Again (I'm saying that a lot, aren't I? I wonder why), why the fuck would I leave something out on purpose when I've written multiple paragraphs about my entire round? For fuck's sake. This is just semantics, at this point.

"And from a completely outside point of view that had zero involvement in this situation until I was asked to step in and give my opinion, I can safely say that this couldn't be further from the truth. Chase was very much in the right when he banned you, and as I said before, I'd have probably give you a longer ban given the last person that said something to me along the lines of

Let's agree to disagree. Also, if you actually perma-banned someone just because they said something like that, and their initial action wasn't perma'able, AND they're unlikely to be unbanned, you need to get control of your anger issues. That's a shitty admin thing to do, if that's the only justifiable thing for a perma-ban they did.

If you don't have anything else to add that isn't me just repeating myself, please stop replying. Re-read if you have to.

Hi! My points have been addressed by the lovely squirrel, but I would like to stress that the station NEEDED engineers to fix departures, as it was mostly space over there, destroyed all the way up to about medbay. The shuttle was coming, yes. The shift was ending, yes. Nobody would have been able to get on said ship to leave the shift because there was no floor with which to walk on, walls with which to pressurize or even a station with which to orient. Meteors d e s t r o y e d the station. Any attempt by you to fix this could have saved lives.

My concern initially was not to be a condom or ruin your scene, it was to prevent the rounds of well... Everyone from being ruined. Yes, there were other engineering staff but your contribution would have made a significant impact. Engineers are critical to keeping everyone alive especially in times of crisis.

Unfortunately, it appears that your abrasiveness has turned what would have been a relatively simple note into a full blown ban. I'm not sure what you aimed to achieve by ostracizing yourself and your point of view from everyone by 'dying on this hill', as one admin put it. All we wanted was a, "Hey, yeah I didn't realize that my scene was inadvertently ruining other people's rounds! I won't do it again" and instead we've got this mess. Frick.

To try and help you understand our perspective, it's our priority to maintain the experience of about 100 people regularly. You are one of those people, and when your ERP is affecting the other 99 players ability to have fun, we have to step in and correct that. We do not do this volunteer babysitting for fun, we do it because we care about this community and the players in it. I actually enjoy Buddy as a character, as many others do, and I hate to see you tied up in this. Heck.

Hey, I just wanted to apologize really quick about how harsh I'm being in this appeal. It's difficult for me to control my tone sometimes, so again, I'm sorry for that in particular.
