Complaint regarding:
Bussing in an antag in extended, giving them an OP weapon to push their objective with, then bussing the SM crystal off the ejection pad so the players couldn't eject it to thwart the antag. Then muting deadchat so they didn't have to hear the complaints of everyone killed by all this.

The rest of this is a direct copy/paste of my byond logs because I don't know how to do anything fancy with it.

Bussing in an antag in extended, giving them an OP weapon to push their objective with, then bussing the SM crystal off the ejection pad so the players couldn't eject it to thwart the antag. Then muting deadchat so they didn't have to hear the complaints of everyone killed by all this.

1. Bussing in an antag in extended.

Everyone voted for how antags were to be handled. Secret rounds are admin curated. I oversaw the whole ordeal and instructed the antag on how to proceed, and advised their ideas towards something more RP friendly.

2. Giving them an OP weapon.
I didnt give them a weapon. They were a wishgranter avatar, of which there were three or four witnesses to the wishgranter, and they were called out as having been in contact with it, and unstable. There was build up before noisy villainy.

3. Bussing the SM off the pad.
I did this, yes. And I also swapped the proper SM out for a non harmful replica, icon var edited to look like the crystal. this was to prevent delamination and irradiation. An attempt by myself to enable further RP. Ejecting the SM, in my eyes, would have validated proper murderbone, as well as cut off RP leading toward its acquisition. It wouldnt have been fun.

4. Muting DChat.
We're supposed to, if DChat gets too rowdy with riled tempers. Its to calm people down. People were spouting insults and the such, so I muted dchat to establish what I had done, and clarify misconceptions. After the fact, it was unmuted and people were allowed to speak.


Frankly, you werent even involved with any ounce of this situation. You even admitted to leaving the round to not be affected by the antag. Why are you complaining?

The problem here is that instead of making an antag and giving them an objective, you made an unkillable murder machine, gave them an objective that would result in the crew forcefully responding, and actively aided the antag with admin powers to keep the event going along the pre-planned design you set for it instead of letting things play out naturally.

If lethals were used by security, the sheer numbers would have enabled security to take down the antag, easy. Three people had, and even took, the chance to fre off tasers to the antag who immediately responded with lethaling them down.

Only five people died. Of the people that died, they were directly involved with the hold up in the engine room. The complaints were brief, stifled, misconceptions cleared and points clarified, and the complaints stopped. Noone else died. Bodies didnt stack up.

It was one sided because security gimped themselves in responding.

He was clearly unstable, or out of his mind so to say, so why would security respond with lethals? Maybe you should read SoP or something, because what appears to be a completely unarmed person who is insane isn't something most officers are gonna lethal. It's easy to go in hindsight "Well, they should have used lethals on the hulk spewing lasers", but they had no way to know to do so until it was too late, and since he was unstunnable with a broken weapon they just all died.

Just because you disagree with what I'm saying doesn't make it "fake news", you made someone unstunnable with a broken weapon and that is a fact.

Course it wasn't voted for, but do they really have to vote every time an antag is around? The only thing that was regretful in my eyes was how overpowered they were. But that is to be expected with the wishgranter according to what I am reading. I wasn't involved in that hold up, but I ended up messing with the antag and he only did warning shots to make me run away, so Jade is telling the truth when he made it clear to not harm anyone that wasn't actively doing much to them.

The wishgranter avatar gets laser vision, which is unmaintained and broken code. It's a rapid fire laser carbine that fires as fast as you can click, with no need to ever recharge, that can't be disarmed or disabled short of killing them. They also get hulk, which adds 50% damage reduction here in addition to the punching and breaking walls, stacking with the explorer armor. And you blame the massacre that broken chain of genetic powers caused on people engaging the obvious antag sabotaging the engine, as if security and engineering are getting payed to not do their jobs?

The problem here is that instead of making an antag and giving them an objective, you made an unkillable murder machine, gave them an objective that would result in the crew forcefully responding, and actively aided the antag with admin powers to keep the event going along the pre-planned design you set for it instead of letting things play out naturally.

Then instead of removing the weapon, you muted dsay and ignored everyone while the bodies stacked up, and you wonder why people complain? Shit happens, it's not like genetics being borderline broken code on Polaris is common knowledge, but the least you can do is toss an "I'm sorry" out when it turns out you accidentally gave someone a broken weapon that resulted in a one sided, unfair fight.

Antag even was who was interviewed about the wishgranter, by the RD.
Multiple people were saying the antag, who was known to have been in contact with the wish granter, was acting odd. The antag wasnt subtle about being 'off', there was plenty warning for peopel to respond to his intent to sabotage.

Security found engineering broken into, which fit with what was put together about the engine being his goal about 'getting rid of the humming crystal'.
red alert was instated, security responded with tasers instead of lethals.
It was one sided because security didnt respond properly to terrorism and red alert with lethals which are, by the IC laws, required.

If lethals were used by security, the sheer numbers would have enabled security to take down the antag, easy. Three people had, and even took, the chance to fre off tasers to the antag who immediately responded with lethaling them down.

Only five people died. Of the people that died, they were directly involved with the hold up in the engine room. The complaints were brief, stifled, misconceptions cleared and points clarified, and the complaints stopped. Noone else died. Bodies didnt stack up.

It was one sided because security gimped themselves in responding.

I also doubt you were involved either, considering the misinformation.

He was clearly unstable, or out of his mind so to say, so why would security respond with lethals? Maybe you should read SoP or something, because what appears to be a completely unarmed person who is insane isn't something most officers are gonna lethal. It's easy to go in hindsight "Well, they should have used lethals on the hulk spewing lasers", but they had no way to know to do so until it was too late, and since he was unstunnable with a broken weapon they just all died.

Maybe you should re-read what I said. The lethals were required to respond to a sabotage threat deduced from interaction with him over comms, which red alert was immediately put in place for.

A terrorist threat is still terrorism and is a major regulations infraction. The person was confrontex in the process of sabotaging the engine. This is an imminent peril situation where lethal force is allowed, and justifiable as self defense. Additionally, like I said, it was red alert. Lethals are supposed to be provided to security for such a situation.

Im disagreeing with what youre saying, because you're misinformed and refuse to acknowledge that. You were not a part of the situation, so stop trying to white knight this. The people that died, asides from ARS afaik, were fine with dying.

This complaint honestly shouldnt have been made. Neither you nor Rush were involved, not even indirectly, and I was even backed up by Bhijn and Blackmajor, that everything was handled properly.

So you disagree that nothing is wrong with laser vision and that it is a perfectly valid thing to give to people? I'm not the one who made this complaint, the fact that I'm speaking up has to do with you blatantly trying to mislead people. Just because it is a genetic power doesn't mean it isn't a weapon. The least you can do is acknowledge it's a bad thing to give people and that it shouldn't happen in the future because it is broken.

The fact of security responding with non-lethals we can go back and forth with all day, but security shouldn't be dissed for trying to non-lethally take down people instead of just lol-killing the antag on sight. You saying I have no context is just a red herring distracting from the fact that you REFUSE to acknowledge the broken weapon and take even a bit of responsibility and maturity and admit that was a mistake.
