Introduction

Not all playable roles fall under the NanoTrasen umbrella. Whether you're an Ashlander born on Lava Land, a free trade agent working for an independent vessel, or you were selected for an event role of some kind, you may find yourself playing the game as a person (or alien) with a different set of guidelines and expectations to adhere to. Be aware that although you are not bound to adhere to NanoTrasen's Standard Operating Procedure [SOP] or their Corporate Regulations [CR], you are not protected by them either. NanoTrasen employees are advised to treat non-corporate entities politely and diplomatically, but they are not required to.

Non-Crew Roles

ITV Talon

The Talon is an Independent Trade Vessel [ITV] currently operating in the Virgo system. Its crew are licensed to operate in the Skrell-owned portions of the system freely, but they require permission to enter sovereign NanoTrasen boundaries. The mission of the ITV Talon is to conduct trade and, when appropriate, to source items from local assets to bolster their stock.

  • Players who choose to join as ITV Talon employees are not antagonists, and are still beholden to Server Rules 5 and 6 (Powergaming and Self-Antagging, respectively).
  • The crew of the ITV Talon are not mercenaries, and should not be expected to serve as a combative force.
  • The crew of the ITV Talon are not pirates, and should not threaten to enslave, rob, or otherwise waylay civilians or NanoTrasen employees when they encounter them.
  • The crew of the ITV Talon are not on par with NanoTrasen’s Exploration department. Their job is to source and sell goods, not accrue personal wealth or acquire ‘gamer gear’ to bolster their own status.
  • The crew of the ITV Talon must request docking permission with NanoTrasen’s base of operations on Virgo 3b. If they wish to dock with the facility, they must submit to the company’s demands. If a demand is deemed unreasonable, the crew of the Talon may attempt to negotiate, but it is the right of NanoTrasen’s local Heads of Staff to deny docking when appropriate.
    • The crew of the ITV Talon conducting trade missions to NanoTrasen facilities must submit to customs checks and provide itemized manifests when they are requested.
    • The crew of the ITV Talon must leave NanoTrasen property when asked to.
    • The crew of the ITV Talon have a duty to retreat, regardless of their current armament or capability, but may defend themselves against unprovoked aggression.
  • When encountering NanoTrasen personnel outside of sovereign NanoTrasen space, crew of the ITV Talon should avoid hostilities if possible, but may defend themselves if they are assaulted.
