The Engine Room

The mapped engine room

The Engine room consists of:

  1. Engine chamber, the interior is 5 by 5 tiles, framed with heat resistant glass and reinforced walls.
  2. A control bay, housing the three consoles needed to control the reactor and the fuel compressor.
  3. A dual TEG setup, already hooked up to the loops.
  4. Injection and Extraction ports, allowing to pump gases into and out of the loops.
  5. Vacuum Radiator connections, where gases in the cold loop are cooled.

Basic Set-Up

This is a baseline guide to make sure the shift doesn't go without power, and the engine doesn't explode. Any engineer that know their way around engineering mechanics will tell you that this setup is not very good. It is important that the no hazard steps are finished before any other steps are completed.

No Hazard:

  1. Maximize the Cold loop pump (Typically near the NW corner of the submap. It's color-coded cyan.).
  2. Grab the stack of Tritium and Deuterium ingots and use the Fuel compressor to create one fuel rod of each.
  3. Insert the rods in to the fuel injectors next to the gyrotrons. Check that you have inserted one of each, and not two of the same kind, as this will cause a unstable engine core if you don't know what you're doing.

Minimal Atmospheric Hazard:

  1. Pump two canisters of Phoron into the cold loop via the green pipeline connectors.
  2. Pump two canisters of N2O into the hot loop via the red pipeline connectors. Do not use Phoron here!

Radiation Hazard:

  1. Maximize the engine SMES(the one on the aft/left/west) in the smes room.
  2. Set the field strength on the rust control console to 301. Each tile is equal to 100 on the field strength gauge. 100~ is the same tile as the RUST itself.
  3. Activate the field.
  4. Set the Gyrotrons to Delay 1.
  5. Set the Gyrotrons to Power 1.
  6. Start the Gyrotrons.
  7. Start Fuel Injection.

Engine set!

Finalizing Touches

  1. Max Input and Output on the Main SMES in the SMES room.
