It is the middle of the 26th Century. Across the spiral arms of the Milky Way the Galactic Powers engage in their never ending quest for dominance. Rising out of the Orion Spur, Humanity - a relative newcomer to the galactic stage - continues a period of aggressive expansion. The human Orion Confederation blooms outwards, engulfing system after system at a steady pace. Meanwhile their neighbors, the Vikara Combine, engage in a more deliberate campaign of development spanning the central Perseus Arm. Composed of several client species, including the Skrell, Teshari, and Akula, the Vikara Combine serves as a steadfast ally to the Orion Confederation. Past the Galactic Center to the North, the Moghes Hegemony dominates the Sagittarius Arm. A mere thirty years ago, Confederation and Combine forces warred with the Hegemony to prevent encroachments into claimed Vikara space.
In the shadow of these warring giants, a new Power continues to grow: as the people of the Galaxy move ever outwards, they drive out the Frontier before them. Borderless, nationless, and lawless, the Frontier is a vast and untamed expanse. Those areas which touch up against ‘civilized’ space will eventually be consumed and converted, but the far reaches are always riding out into the Dark.
At the forefront of development on the Frontier are the Megacorporations. Formed out of the Orion Confederation’s inability to keep up with its own rate of expansion, these gigantic conglomerates have become governments unto themselves. Operating private navies, guarded by private security and paramilitary teams, and often owning entire planets or star systems, there is little to distinguish a Megacorp from a Government. Of all the Megacorporations operating on the Frontier, NanoTrasen is recognized as one of the most powerful.
It has been nearly a decade since the cessation of the Phoron War - a decades long conflict which saw the Megacorporations engaging in open warfare with each other. Although the end of the war drew the curtains closed on NanoTrasen’s unopposed hegemony, the Company is still a force to be reckoned with. Focusing on cutting edge research and development, NanoTrasen offers some of the best conditions in which to live on the Frontier.
So it is that you have come to work for them. Whether due to ambition, avarice, or desperation, you have taken the long flight into the vast dark, and signed a contract with the Company. From the simple custodian to the educated scientist, NanoTrasen has a purpose for all - and surely it rewards those who remain loyal?

Lore
NanoTrasen is one of the Galaxy's largest Megacorporations. In spite of a significant loss in economic and political power following the cessation of the Phoron War, NanoTrasen remains a contender on the galactic stage. Its many Frontier holdings cater to every concern of the modern world. Offering comprehensive benefits packages and access to cutting edge research facilities across the Frontier, NanoTrasen boasts constant growth.

For several centuries, Humanity has been experiencing a trend of rapid expansion. Rocketing onto the galactic stage in a manner unforseen, this meteoric rise has led to the appearance of new problems. Chief among those is the need to develop the Frontier freely and foster further exploration. Over the years businesses have formed conglomerates and transformed into massive Megacorporations akin to lesser governments themselves. On the Frontier these companies are the Law, and as Civilization creeps in behind them, they are content to drive ever outward.

About Us
Through a mixture of Story and Game development - planned and executed by Event Managers, Lore Maintainers, and the addition or adjustment of extant features - the Server at large should present an evolving narrative with an atmosphere of progression and player investment. Dissemination of worldbuilding lore is absolutely vital, and the end goal of Lore Development is to provide an accessible structure that allows players to understand the setting and fit their characters cleanly into it.
Recognizing that Staff-based interaction is not always the ideal method by which stories may develop, the focus of EMs, Lore Maintainers, and Game Developers should be broad stroke worldbuilding or specialized short-term arcs. The gaming population should be encouraged via initiative-based, player-level features to conduct their own events and drive their personal stories naturally.
In summary: CitRP’s current joint Gameplay/Lore Development mission is to emphasize player agency and interaction, with the end goal of creating an initiative-based system where the majority possess a baseline understanding of the setting and the confidence to explore their characters and storylines freely.
Citadel station currently runs two servers hosted by Jay. The Medium Roleplay server and The Heavy Roleplay Server. The Medium Roleplay server, known as the MRP server runs on a modified TG Codebase, while The Heavy roleplay server runs on a heavily modified Virgo Codebase. The Medium roleplay server is an environment that focuses more on the gameplay mechanics and less on roleplay. Conversely, the Heavy Roleplay server on the other hand focuses on higher level of roleplay and more focus on the environment.
Space Station 13 is a top-down tile based action role-playing multiplayer video game running on the freeware BYOND game engine, originally released in 2003. The game is set on a futuristic space station; however, location can differ depending on the game server, including spacecraft and exoplanets. The core game is defined by its emphasis on player roles: at the start of every round, players choose or are given various roles and attempt to either help or hinder others' progress. Read more here.
