Orion Confederation

With Terra at it's center, the Orion Confederation continues to expand, incorporating new species into their diverse whole. The democratic OriCon remains at-odds not just with their contemporaries, but at forces within as well. Yet, the enduring principal of liberty for all propels the Confederation forward.

Species Description
Biosynthetics Products of the Tri-Star Compact, these wholly artificial humans struggle for their own identity within the confines of their pocket empire within the Confederation.
Humans Born from Terra, humans are headstrong, ambitious, and wholly diverse in terms of personality, temperament, and belief.
Mol Split between two subspecies, the Mol have only recently become a space-faring people, hurling themselves into the vastness of space with eagerness.
Ogorians Derived from the Tyrmalin baseline, Ogorians are massive genemodded creatures, evoking images of mythical ogres.
Tyrmalin Short, green-skinned, and capricious, the Tyrmalins have followed humanity wherever they went, providing their own manic energy and love of enginewering to the greater Confederation.

Moghes Hegemony

The "Alliance of Three Hands" officially, though better known as the Hegemony. Forged from a combined conflict that nearly destroyed one of their cultures, the Unathi, Naramadi, and Zaddat now stand as equals over what many see as the pre-eminent threat in the galaxy. This shared animosity only serves to bind them stronger together though the Alliance is still in its infancy; time will tell if this is convenience will end or if there is a grand work in the making.

Species Description
Ishira As isolated as their saviours, Ishira are a constrast to Naramadi: explosive and quick thinking.
Naramadi Stratified, insular aliens with rigid ideals. Access to their empire is restricted, especially after a disastrous civil war perpetrated by humans.
Unathi Scaled humanoid reptilians with long-lasting traditions and a history of conflict. Largely seen as barbaric bogeymen, for reasons real and imagined.
Zaddat Suitbound engineers of a blackened world. Long term allies of the Unathi, they've been let loose to the galaxy in pursuit of a new home.

Independent

Species Description
Adherent Crystalline robots, a remnant of an ancient empire. They serve in their own capacities to maintaining order, wherever they may be.
Apidean Placeholder Text
Auril Isolationist and convinced of their superiority, the Auril encompass many diverse groups of modified humanoids, evoking imagery of ancient Terran 'angels'
Diona Not any singular living organism, a Diona is actually constructed from many connected Nymphs, working in unison to create a gestalt intelligence. Peaceful to a fault, the Dionae simply wish to exist among others and learn as much as they can.
Dnin-Nepids A group of nomadic, moth-like spacefarers residing on interstellar fleets after the destruction of their homeworld. While scarcely heard of by most inner-world residents, they have become synonymous with the reaches of the galactic frontier.
Dremachir Even more diverse in form and function than the Auril, the castaways known as the Dremachir have created their own society out of the dregs of Daedel.
Keisani What remains of this industrial empire are ruins and decrepit servitors, but archeologists every day uncover more and more about their rich culture...and what might have survived into the modern era.
Krisitik A nation of murine subterranean aliens from the rimward edge of the Orion arm. They are masters of nuclear technology and underground life, led by a clique of the most powerful organization in their society.
Sagaur Possessed of a strong work ethic and a desire to survive above all else, the independent Saguar currently face the pressures of residing as an independent body in Hegemony space.
Sarkasi Remnants of a violent prehistoric era, the immense Sarkasi developed a symbiotic relationship with the Saguar they share the system with.
Shadekin Dimensional travelers, these capricious creatures exist in two forms; the more common dwellers residing in bluespace, and the curious black-eyed shadekin, forever locked in material forms.
Tajaran If there is a word for the Tajaran people, it is 'survivalist'. Through ice age and cold war, the feline denizens of Adhomai have stood strong, if ever divided.
Vox Foot-soldiers of an ancient war, these avian-reptile creatures now make their living as wanderers and nomads, cursing the dustlungs who brought them low.

Lifeform Designations

These 'species' are not actual distinct cultures in the usual sense, as opposed to a classification for a form of (usually artificial) life.

Species Description
Alraune Plant-like humanoids, known for their aloof nature, predatory hunger, and a focus on beauty above all else.
Phoronoids Placeholder Text
Prometheans Originally little more than designer pets, their confirmed sentience has quickly become a hot-button issue throughout the Orion Confederation.
Proteans Seemingly the final evolution of robotics. While nearly impossible to produce, these swarms of nanites are fully capable of forming their own physical avatars. Some are seemingly more ancient than they let on...
Synthetics Regardless of form or function, what binds all synthetic life is their artificial nature, coupled with the spark of sentience that can flourish within them.
Vetalans Not so much a species as they are victims of a viral infection, Vetalans are commonly characterized by their sickness; physical mutations, and an intense desire for warm blood to feast on.
Xenochimera Stories of wendigos and other shapeshifting creatures made manifest, in reality the Xenochimera are just as confused about their condition as everyone else.
Xenohybrids Almost polar opposites to their Xenomorph forbearers, Xenohybrids are possessed of fierce individuality and a desire for self-actualization, searching for their place in a galaxy that remains uneasy of their presence.
