For several centuries, Humanity has been experiencing a trend of rapid expansion. Rocketing onto the galactic stage in a manner unforseen, this meteoric rise has led to the appearance of new problems. Chief among those is the need to develop the Frontier freely and foster further exploration. Over the years businesses have formed conglomerates and transformed into massive Megacorporations akin to lesser governments themselves. Although the Megacorporations own the Frontier, most of known inhabited space is overseen by the Galactic Powers. From Humanity's Orion Confederation to the Vikara Combine, and beyond that the Moghes Hegemony, civilized space spans a broad and ever-changing expanse.
