It is the 26th century, and the galaxy is enjoying an era of relative peace. The Orion Confederation, with its capital in Sol, is the fastest-expanding power in the galaxy. Having just seen off a massive xenomorph incursion they are once more free to expand again. With tens of millions leaving Sol every year for the Frontier more and more worlds become human colonies every passing year. Within the Orion Confederation numerous megacorporations, almost nations in their own right, have their headquarters. Those megacorporations, along with cults, communists, libertarians, criminals, and countless other groups prowl out into the unclaimed 'Astra Nullius' beyond the established OriCon borders claiming systems and their resources for their own.

Humans are not alone in this galaxy, however; in the Perseus Arm lies the Vikara Combine, a league of alien races that was humanity's first contact and their oldest ally in the stars. Their advanced technology makes them the most powerful nation in known space, however, as the OriCon expands and corporations gobble up the resources of entire planets ever more greedily both that position on the top of the galactic hierarchy and their relationship to humanity in general and the Orion Confederation in particular is increasingly strained.

Far in the Saggitarius Arm lies the 'Alliance of Three Hands' better known as the Moghes Hegemony. An alliance of authoritarian alien states, their tolerance of slavery has made them pariahs in the galaxy at large while their fleet is the largest and most deadly in the galaxy, and thus the foremost threat to the security of both OriCon and VikCom. Threatened by the rapid growth of both the Orion Confederation's territorial claims and economic strength, combined with the Confederation's fanatical abolitionist politics, and incursions by a hostile machine intelligence from unexplored space, Moghes prepares for war. If that war is to be with OriCon or the various alien threats that it faces remains to be seen.

In the midst of this peace, NanoTrasen, the galaxy's largest megacorporation, and your employer, is in a period of stagnation. After nearly a century of war and insurgency over its monopoly on phoron, a powerful source of fuel for spaceships, the company is depleted by its victory and the loss of that very same monopoly it fought to protect. In these trying times it looks to Astra Nullius once more, on the Frontier. It was in Astra Nullius they found phoron and perhaps they will find the next great product or innovation to sell.

Still beyond the superpowers of the galaxy and that of your own employer, space is filled with countless factions vying for power; other megacorporations vie for the same resources as NanoTrasen and though the corporations are now at peace, that may not be true forever. Smaller alien states struggle to assert their independence from both the superpowers and the megacorporations; The vox, a race of ancient piratical raiders with power and ancient technology left behind by their long-dead creators, comb the galaxy for parts to repair their failing ark ships. Between it all countless groups of pirates, settlers, independent corporations, mercenaries, criminals, and things far far worse struggle for planets that most don't know even exist.

The galaxy truly is anyone's for the taking: NanoTrasen's, yours, someone else's entirely, or perhaps it will all go to something far darker. How it all plays out, that remains to be seen.

NanoTrasen is one of the Galaxy's largest Megacorporations. In spite of a significant loss in economic and political power following the cessation of the Phoron War, NanoTrasen remains a contender on the galactic stage. Its many Frontier holdings cater to every concern of the modern world. Offering comprehensive benefits packages and access to cutting edge research facilities across the Frontier, NanoTrasen boasts constant growth.

For several centuries, Humanity has been experiencing a trend of rapid expansion. Rocketing onto the galactic stage in a manner unforseen, this meteoric rise has led to the appearance of new problems. Chief among those is the need to develop the Frontier freely and foster further exploration. Over the years businesses have formed conglomerates and transformed into massive Megacorporations akin to lesser governments themselves. On the Frontier these companies are the Law, and as Civilization creeps in behind them, they are content to drive ever outward.

Security is one of the most difficult jobs to do "right", even on mode oriented servers. On RP your power to affect the rest of the population is enhanced and may have longer lasting consequences. As such, Security players are often under an intense level of scrutiny from their peers both in and out of character. This list has been compiled to ensure that all Security players have a working knowledge of policy, regulations, and procedure centered around the department. It is considered mandatory reading.

About Us

Through a mixture of Story and Game development - planned and executed by Event Managers, Lore Maintainers, and the addition or adjustment of extant features - the Server at large should present an evolving narrative with an atmosphere of progression and player investment. Dissemination of worldbuilding lore is absolutely vital, and the end goal of Lore Development is to provide an accessible structure that allows players to understand the setting and fit their characters cleanly into it.

Recognizing that Staff-based interaction is not always the ideal method by which stories may develop, the focus of EMs, Lore Maintainers, and Game Developers should be broad stroke worldbuilding or specialized short-term arcs. The gaming population should be encouraged via initiative-based, player-level features to conduct their own events and drive their personal stories naturally.

In summary: CitRP’s current joint Gameplay/Lore Development mission is to emphasize player agency and interaction, with the end goal of creating an initiative-based system where the majority possess a baseline understanding of the setting and the confidence to explore their characters and storylines freely.

Citadel station currently runs two servers hosted by Jay. The Medium Roleplay server and The Heavy Roleplay Server. The Medium Roleplay server, known as the MRP server runs on a modified TG Codebase, while The Heavy roleplay server runs on a heavily modified Virgo Codebase. The Medium roleplay server is an environment that focuses more on the gameplay mechanics and less on roleplay. Conversely, the Heavy Roleplay server on the other hand focuses on higher level of roleplay and more focus on the environment.

Space Station 13 is a top-down tile based action role-playing multiplayer video game running on the freeware BYOND game engine, originally released in 2003. The game is set on a futuristic space station; however, location can differ depending on the game server, including spacecraft and exoplanets. The core game is defined by its emphasis on player roles: at the start of every round, players choose or are given various roles and attempt to either help or hinder others' progress.
